Steps

  1. Use the bottom stair or a solid step no higher than mid shin, next to a rail or a wall.
  2. Put your whole working foot on the step, not just the toes.
  3. Lean your chest slightly forward over the front foot.
  4. Press through the heel of the front foot to stand up tall on the step.
  5. Let the back foot come up without pushing off it.
  6. Lower slowly with the same front leg until the back foot touches the floor.
  7. Finish the side you started, then switch legs.
