  1. Put the closing disclosure next to your latest loan estimate.
  2. Check your name, the property address, the loan amount, the rate and the loan type.
  3. Compare the monthly payment and the cash to close with the estimate.
  4. Go through each fee on page two and circle any that rose or appeared.
  5. Ask the lender to explain every change in writing before closing day.
  6. Call your title or closing company at a number from your contract, not from an email, to confirm wiring instructions.
  7. Bring a photo ID and any items the closing company lists.
