Steps

  1. Make sure Bluetooth and your phone's unknown tracker alerts are turned on in settings.
  2. If an alert appears, open it and choose the option to play a sound.
  3. Search your bag, coat pockets, car seats, wheel wells and the trunk while the tag chirps.
  4. Run a manual scan from the tracker settings if you are worried but have no alert.
  5. Photograph the tag and any serial number or owner information your phone shows.
  6. If you feel unsafe, go to a public place or a police station, not home.
  7. Contact a domestic violence hotline or the police before disabling the tag if you think a specific person placed it.
